Top 8 in Men’s Epee Teams after defeating higher-ranked Uzbekistan 45-33 and a hard-fought match against Taipei. Cadets Women's Epee 👏 Xiao Xuan Jade Lim & Lydia Chew Zi Ning - Top 64 finish in their debut Asian Championships at just 15 years old! 🔥 Teams - Finished in the Top 16 with a commendable performance. Cadets Women's Foil 🎯 Angellena Wong Yan Qi - Top 8 finish in individual — her best performance yet — plus a silver medal in the team event! Image 30: Our fencers took part in the annual NUS Open, hosted by @nusfencing. The only non-ranking open event of the calendar, the skill level of the event proved as challenging as ever, and still our fencers have returned with an impressive haul of medals, including a 1-2 finish for Jefferson and Alvin in mens' epee, both team epee golds for mens and womens, an individual silver for Jean, and multiple top 8 finishes and personal bests. Ending the year on a high, we look towards continued excellence in the new year! Special shoutout to our mens' epee team comprising Lukas, Sijie and Ian X2 for making 5th, losing only to the eventual first place team including Alvin and Chen Ming!

Image 45: Blade athletes showed their mettle over the last weekend with a strong showing at the 2nd Cadets ranking competition of the 2024-2025 season. Our athletes made the podium in 4 out of 6 events, with a number of them achieving personal best performances. Jade Lim put in a sterling performance to win the Women's Epee event for the first time ever, even coming back down from a 5-point deficit in the semis to win in convincing fashion. Lucas Wang and John Ng put in amazing performances to earn bronzes in the Men's Epee event, both earning their best cadet performances ever. Both fencers showed real grit and upseeded several opponents in tough fights to earn their medals. Joshua Chew also earned his first ever silver in the Men's Foil event after a series of excellent bouts, before losing to his higher ranked opponent in the final. Angellena Wong once again made the podium with another Bronze in a series of consistent performances over the last few competitions. Special mention to other athletes who did not make the podium but nevertheless fought very well, including Lydia Chew who unfortunately had to meet teammate Jade in the Top 8 (and lost only by 1 point), and Zhixing, Azanius, Aiden, Nathan, and Oscar who all made Top 8 in their respective events. #fencingcompetition #fencinglife🤺 #fencinglife #fencingsingapore #bladeclubfencingsingapore #bladeclubfencing
