VivoCity

Singapore has no shortage of shopping malls, but VivoCity still holds court as one of the island state’s largest shopping mall. This mall is very much like a mini-city, with restaurants, bars, a cinema and of course a dizzying range of shops! From familiar high-street brands to sporting goods and premium grocery stores, you can spend an entire day catering to your inner shopaholic.

Food-wise, you are in for a diverse range of cuisines offered across different price ranges. Hankering for some Chinese goodness? We recommend The Soup Restaurant, which will capture your heart and taste buds with authentic Samsui cuisine. Looking for something casual? Head to The Queen and Mangosteen, a gourmet pup with quintessential British pub grub along with some local favourites. The pub overlooks the water to Sentosa island, making it the perfect place to relax after a gruelling day on your feet.

Travelodge Harbourfront is located 300m from VivoCity, and is the perfect place to stay among Singapore Harbourfront hotels if you’re planning a visit to this mega mall.

Tips: WiFi, Wheelchairs, and mobile charging stations are available complimentarily

Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice

Well, Anthony Bourdain said that the rice at Tian Tian was “so fragrant and delicious that it can be eaten on its own” and TLA can’t deny that! Ever since the stall first opened in 1987, they have gone through a lot of innovation in their processes to make sure you get an even better meal. Today, the chicken is blanched in an ice bath to lock in all the juice from the meat before serving it to you. Their rice is also constantly mixed during cooking to make sure each grain of rice can fully absorb the stock’s flavors. Tian Tian also makes their sauce in-house, lifting and balancing the overall flavor of the whole dish with spicy chilli sauce, dark soy sauce, and minced ginger all combined.

Must order:

– Hainanese Steamed Chicken

– Rice
