- The elderly was able to walk a little bit with Anita and another caregiver’s help.
- Suctioning (oral).
- Assisted with oxygen therapy.
- Indwelling urinary catheter care, administered suppository (bullet).
- Basic wound care for rashes due to diapers.
- Assisted in Activities of Daily Living including showering (on alternate days), sponging (on alternate days), changing diapers, dressing, feeding, turning & positioning (including at night).
- Slept in separate room with the elderly. Anita did not need to wake up as the other caregiver worked night shift.
- Assisted in ROM exercises and massaged the elderly.
- Prepared and served medications.
- Accompanied for medical appointments with employer.
- Sometimes the elderly would stay in the hospital for a few days for checkup, Anita and the other caregiver would stay at the hospital to take care of the elderly.
- Performed cooking (sometimes).
- There is another Myanmar helper in the house that performed housework and cooking. The helper would ask Anita to do other chores when she was taking care of the elderly. When Anita rejected as she could not leave the elderly’s side, the helper would give her black face and would sometimes scold her. Anita told the employer about this issue and the employer gave the helper a warning, but the helper would not listen. Anita felt that she could not get along with the helper, hence she returned home.

- Shared a room with the elderly. Woke up 5 to 6 times at night to assist the elderly to go to the toilet, turn and position.
- Brought the elderly out to the park to get some sun and socialize with his friends.
- Assisted in ROM exercises.
- Prepared and served medications.
- Accompanied for medical appointments with employer.
- Performed housework, grocery shopping (with elderly) and cooking.
- Cared for the elderly until he passed away. Hence, Anita was transferred to the elderly’s daughter.
- Cared for a 70-year-old lady and her 73-year-old husband who was still healthy.
- Slept in separate room with the elderlies. Anita did not need to wake up to assist them to go to the toilet.
- Brought the elderly man out to the market for grocery shopping.
- The elderly would invite their friends to go to their house to play mahjong.
- Massaged the elderly when he was giddy after playing mahjong or exercise.
- Prepared and served medications for the elderly man.
- Accompanied for medical appointments with employer.
- Performed housework, grocery shopping and cooking.
- father sick (bedridden & stroke), employer only can gave her 2 weeks home leave, so she ended the contract early and returned home.
