With the alarming growth of children with special needs, and the dearth in SPED programs and teachers, SEMFI is challenged to meet this urgent call through the attached Proposed Community-Based Project MDRT WeCARE to supplement our government’s efforts in educating and empowering the differently-abled children, as well as training parents and teachers thru a one-day seminar/workshop for each group. The project envisions to assess as many Special Children in selected big Baranggays of the 6th District of Manila to determine their handicaps and endorse them to Govt Schools with SPED Centers nearest to their residences to receive appropriate remediation thereby achieving basic skills and academic education completion for self reliance and productivity towards an energized community where helping each other abounds. The Assessment of Children will be at selected Baranggays or at a Selected/Centralized Venue of SEMFI in partnership with MDRT to welcome all the kids of the 6th District of Manila to come for a free evaluation and testing for a period of ONE month, preferably April 2023 to June 2023 to ensure that these special kids will get maximum help in the whole school year.
