Our studio is located in the lower level of SOLA SALON STUDIOS - between 2nd and 3rd Avenue in 34th Street. Its only 2 blocks from the 6 train and short walk to both Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal. There is also the M34 cross-town bus located on the street.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation or reschedule made less than 24 HOURS will result in a cancellation fee. The amount of the fee will be equal to 50% of the reserved service price. If NO SHOW or LESS THAN 3 HOURS, 100% of the service fee will be charged. Please understand that when you forget or cancel an appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill the appointment time, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to book. Appointments are confirmed 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE because we know how easy it is to forget. We understand that special circumstances can arise which may cause you to run a few minutes behind but if you are more than 20 minutes late for an appointment, we will automatically cancel due to our next appointment schedule and will be charged with the amount of your booked service. We also respectfully request at least 24HR NOTICE IN MODIFYING/UPDATING YOUR APPOINTMENT. If less than 24 hours, you will be charged with your confirmed booked service.

I found this place on Google and decided to try it out because it had such great reviews. My previous nail tech ended up going back home to help with family. Artup did NOT disappoint! Booking was simple, and communication was clear and instructive. They were proactive by asking for inspo for my appointment. When I arrived, everyone was so kind and welcoming. It’s a small space but very clean and organized. You can tell everybody knows how to work efficiently and effectively. The nail techs are engaging, kind, considerate, and overall professional! It’s not a stuffy place like some nail salons, and it’s not a hole in the wall like some places. It’s just right.

Rina has done my nails both times, And honestly, she’s my new favorite nail technician. She has such a calming spirit, and gives a quiet confidence. I present her the inspo and she without question mirrors it with little customizations here and there. If I want to change something in the middle of the session, she is accommodating and understanding. While the salon is clearly very reputed, my first experience there did not meet my expectations. I had initially signed up for a Japanese gel appointment with "moderate" nail art. After being asked to send the image I had in mind via text, I was told that the design (which included French tips) would constitute "simple" nail art. So my appointment was revised. Fine. And yet, when I arrived at the salon and showed Quinn the photo, she informed me that my appointment would have to be upgraded to "moderate." The advanced texting is supposed be helpful, adding some smoothness and efficiency to the process. For me, it created such unnecessary confusion especially since I thought all along that my design should fall under "moderate." That being said, I might like to try the salon one more time, primarily because I have heard such wonderful things about some of the other nail artists (and could see for myself how pleasant, kind, and collaborative they were with their clients). I am hopeful that my next appointment will be more satisfying.

This is the first review I have written in over a decade (perhaps even longer), but I felt it was important to catalogue my experience as I did not receive great service and I know that it was unwarranted. At first, Quinn was perfectly nice to me and answering my questions. I showed her a photo of the nail art that I wanted and she told me that the design was achievable. It wasn't until the very end of my manicure, when she was drawing the design and I noticed that it looked considerably different from the photo, that she claimed (with the certainty of someone who had made up her mind a while back) that she could not replicate the design more accurately because it appeared to be a sticker. This is the type of discussion that needs to be had at the beginning of an appointment, not only to manage expectations but also to practice transparency with clients! I was very disappointed that she didn't bother to tell me this early on because if she had, and if I knew how my nails would actually turn out, I would have asked for something else entirely. In addition, when Quinn first started filing my nails, I asked her for an almond shape and elaborated on that request with description and a photo. By the end of the manicure, however, she had done the French tip in such a voluminous and bulbous way that my nails looked quite top-heavy and inelegantly shaped. I noticed this and asked her if she could please refine the shape (I said something to the effect of, "My nails are looking very rounded at the top, do you think you could shape them just a bit so they return to the almond shape please? Thanks so much"). She gave me a disproportionately aggrieved look and proceeded to half-heartedly file a few of my nails for about five seconds. She treated me in such a cold and annoyed way after this, which was surprising considering the reviews I had read about her patience, precision, and attention to detailed requests. I had been consistent from the beginning about the shape that I wanted. I showed it to her in the photo as well (once again at the end as a reminder of the shape). So I was very disappointed that she would show such displeasure at me when she was the one who had not carried out my fairly simple request of almond-shaped nails. I will not be making an appointment with Quinn again.

The first time I ever went here to get my nails done, I knew that I could never go back to getting my nails done anywhere else. Art Up Nail Studio is incomparably better than any other nail place I have ever been to. They are meticulous when it comes to shaping and prepping the nails and always get the designs/nail art perfect. They always listen to you and are willing to work with you to come up with a design. Every single staff member that I have encountered there is so incredibly kind. I've also had my nails done by several different nail techs here, who have all been amazing, and my nails turn out perfect every time. I cannot recommend this place enough! I introduced my friend to this place, and she now exclusively gets her nails done here and feels the exact same way about it being the best nail place she has ever been to. 10/10 would recommend!

Jess is fantastic. I've been seeing her for over a year and a half for my natural nails. I'm very specific with my shape (oval, not too thick on top), style (ombre French) and length and she gets it perfect every time. I am constantly complimented on them. And they last a full month, easily. Never chip, fade, or break. She's very sweet and very efficient.
