Here at Viv’s Schoolhouse, we are an international preschool and childcare centre in Singapore specialising in educating children between 18 months to 6 years old from all walks of life.

An international preschool and childcare centre located in Bras Basah, Viv’s Schoolhouse offers an award-winning preschool curriculum in Singapore. Our syllabus boasts of a bilingual immersion program and an experiential learning approach.

Bilingual Immersion

As an international preschool and childcare centre, our children come from all walks of life. We have included a bilingual immersion program into our preschool curriculum so that all our children at Viv’s Schoolhouse have a firm mastery of both English and Mandarin.

Experiential Learning

To ensure that our children can firmly anchor in every learning experience, our syllabus has been designed to engage all their five senses as much as possible.

Gardening

Gardening is a hands-on activity that engages all five senses in children. We have a designated gardening space in our outdoor area where children are free to plant different types of seeds and watch them grow.

Weekly cooking classes

Weekly cooking classes at Viv’s Schoolhouse are always filled with lots of fun, laughter and deliciousness! Learning to cook helps children learn about nutrition from an early age.

Daily craftwork

An integral part of childcare and preschool education is allowing children to express themselves. Through our daily craftwork activities, children can use art and crafts as a medium to communicate their feelings, hone their creativity, improve fine motor skills and express their learnings in a vivid fashion!

Daily gym classes

Apart from outdoor activities such as gardening, our children also participate in daily gym classes. Gym classes improve fitness and help children build their gross motor skills for better coordination and body awareness.

Weekly water play sessions

Water play is a type of sensory play that children enjoy tremendously. Amidst the fun of splashing around, children can also improve their dexterity and gross motor skills. Water play sessions are also an excellent opportunity for social development as children can explore and interact with their peers.

Weekly swimming lessons

We have a swimming pool within our premises, and children have the option to sign up for weekly swimming classes. All our swim coaches are fully certified by the Singapore Sports Council, Swimming Teacher’s Association, and Austswim.

Monthly field trips

At Viv’s Schoolhouse, we extend our childcare and preschool education outside of school – taking our children on monthly field trips! From visiting the Singapore Botanic Gardens to understanding more about fishes at our local fish farm, these learning journeys provide children with the opportunity to explore things in authentic settings. This creates shared social experiences that are not only memorable but also insightful!
Viv’s schoolhouse is a wonderful place to send kids to. They have very good teachers and staff that really care for the kids, and are extremely patient and understanding with the kids, helping them learn at their own pace. They have monthly outdoor activities that are interesting, and help kids learn about the world we live in.

When our son was 18 months old, we sent him to a Montessori School, but we felt that he was not happy, even he could not say. We decided that we wanted to find a better place for him, and after visiting Viv’s Schoolhouse, we realised that this school could be the place where our son could be happier. And now that we leave Singapore, and our son has been there for more than one and a half year, we only can have good words about what has been to him like a second house. The teachers and all the staff have been always there when we wanted to know more about our son, showing kindness and extremely care to improve and give the best to him and the rest.

This is a wonderful preschool with great Teachers and programs in a very safe and fun environment. Especially Vivian, Teacher Pat and Zhou laoshi, who show lots of patience, compassion and always extend an extra mile to my boy’s special needs due to eczema. They are always so kind and attentive to my kids. In addition, all other teachers are equally kind, helpful and always ready to help around. We loved the attention, support and effort teachers put into understanding each child individually and they appreciate the child’s strengths. The school was a great learning environment for our children, giving them a solid headstart in learning two new languages as they couldn’t speak any English or Mandarin before attending Viv’s Schoolhouse. The school is friendly and has a warm, family feel. They feel secure and totally at home. We feel that the children get a lot of individual attention from their class teachers, who get to know them really well.

This is a long overdue review. I can’t say enough great things about Viv’s Schoolhouse! They have incredible teachers, good communication with parents and provide a nurturing environment for the children. My son was one of the first few students with Viv’s when they started and it was the best decision we’ve ever made! My child has been going to Viv’s for some time now, and I really appreciate their warm and caring teachers. They are very good with kids. But what stood out most was the incredibly well thought out curriculum which incorporates in-house gym classes, speech and drama lessons, swimming classes and even weekly cooking classes! I like that my child could learn by doing hands-on activities that he enjoys – definitely experiential learning at its best! Highly recommend.

My daughter loves coming to Viv’s Schoolhouse – she literally runs through the doors when I drop her off. She particularly loves the Friday baking sessions (yes, they bake/cook every Friday, incredible!), the crazy fun activities when they school runs a special event, and the sheer warmth of the teachers. There are also swimming classes each week – so this is really like a home-school set within a childcare!

Highly recommended! Their teachers are dedicated and fun loving whilst the curriculum is rigorous and engaging! With facilities like an indoor gym (with a rock wall no less), a huge swimming pool and an outdoor playground with plenty of gardening spaces, children can truly fluorish! Viv’s Schoolhouse is an amazing place for children to learn and grow. My favourite aspects are the caring and dedicated teachers and the focus on experiential learning. I don’t think every child learns the same way so it was really refreshing to see that Viv’s Schoolhouse takes their kids out for excursions or does cooking classes or teaches them through fun drama classes on top of the normal curriculum.
