One of the highlights of our trip was the trek to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). We had been told that locals typically complete the hike in about three hours, and given our age and physical condition, we were worried about whether we could manage it. But Yongko was positive and encouraging, assuring us we could do it together at a slower pace. Throughout the trek, he was attentive to our well-being — teaching us breathing techniques, ensuring we had enough rest and water at each checkpoint, and even offering to carry our belongings so we could climb more comfortably.

I had initially planned my trip to Bhutan in 2023, but it was postponed until July-August 2025. I approached the trip with an open mind and heart, albeit with limited research. Unlike my usual solo travels, I opted for a guided tour this time.
