Experiential & Self-Driven Learning

Our holistic and robust curriculum is taught through a myriad of hands-on experiential activities to satisfy their inquisitive minds and to seed their love for learning. Older classes will also embark on child-directed projects that are of interest to the children.

Character Building

Values are instilled during the child’s formative years. Teachers are role models for the children and our staff walk the talk, seeding these values within the children. Our school’s character development programme works with families to reinforce the display of these values at home and everywhere the child goes.

Literacy

English stories are at the core of our curriculum, presenting wonderful opportunities for linking back to familiar storybook characters whether the children are embarking on the learning of penmanship, words, grammar or creative writing.
Learning Chinese can be great fun! Our passionate Team of Chinese teachers will scaffold learning using their toolkit of catchy songs, stories, games, flashcards, conversations, cultural experiences, etc. Leave the job of teaching children to converse, to recognise Chinese characters and Hanyu Pinyin to us!

Sports & The Arts

Research has shown that the sports and the arts (e.g. music) stimulate the children’s brain development. Early exposure will improve the children’s physical and mental wellbeing, reaping benefits such as better memory, language skills, creativity and social skills. Early exposure also helps us identify young talents for further grooming in future.

I enjoy sending my son to Eshkol Valley Sengkang Pearl. Each time I drop him off at school, it warms my heart to see how genuinely happy his teachers are to see him. Evan truly enjoys school and i can tell that by how happy he is at the end of each school day, and all the stories he shares with me at home about what he does and learns at school.I still remember there was once Evan was hospitalized last year and Evan's teachers specially made a quick visit at hospital while the kids were napping, and they even brought him toys! Eshkol Valley Preschool wasn't the nearest school for us, but the decision to choose this centre was an easy one. The very first time we visited the school, we felt warm homely vibes and knew that it was the school for our boys. Indeed, my first son took only a few days to adapt with the guidance of the caring teachers. My husband and I agree that the teachers are the essence of the school – they truly care of the children’s wellbeing. The teachers plan their lessons well, and also regularly organise fun activities which my son will come back home and talk about. We also appreciate that communication with the teachers is open and forthcoming. During the circuit breaker, the teachers continued to engage the children with storybook reading and songs and dance. The dedication is heartening. This is why my son looks forward to school every morning.

Our 3 year-old son Jayden is currently attending Eskhol Valley Preschool in Sengkang branch. It has been a year and he really loves to go to this preschool. Throughout this learning journey, he used to be very timid and quiet but now we can see some improvement. During our first visit to the preschool, we noticed that the children were calm and well behaved, and the classrooms were neat and clean. We like the fact that the teacher-student ratio is not high, thus the teachers are able to pay individual attention to each student. Jayden likes the teachers, assistants & principal very much because they are patient, caring and attentive, even though he can be difficult to handle sometimes. The teachers are friendly and they take their time to explain thoroughly to me how my son perform in school. We are glad he is in good hands in Eskhol Valley.

It has been close to one and a half year since my son joined Eskhol Valley Sengkang and am proud to say that EVS is a family to us. From the day he joined, we have seen him grew confidently and way beyond our expectations for a child whom have never socialised before under the care by his grand-aunt 24/5 week. As with many new parents in a semi matured estate, it was difficult to secure a placing in govt related pre-school in Sengkang. when we were first introduced to EVS through a friend , all we knew was it being a private pre-school in a close to 8 years estate.. Honestly we were quite skeptical initially when we first arrived at the centre for centre visit as it was nowhere comparable to those mega centres external look. However, we saw nothing but a place that is kept very clean, neat and cosy and more importantly the positive energy the moment we stepped in. It was even more encouraging after our decision to join ESV family and our son's first visit for uniform fitting (He was quite traumatised and we were not so comfortable with a previous trial session at another school). Fast forward.. ..All in all the bond we have till date was sweet and i believe nothing will change even after his sister (Yes! We are sending Mei Mei to the family as well in Q3 2020) graduates from K2. A special thanks to all the staff (including Teacher Sarah whom departed for further studies) whom have guided my son from the day he joined the family.. Especially Principal Weiting if not for her I think he would be traumatised before even stepping in ESV.

With the above positive feedback, we decided to send our 2nd child, Joshua to be in the same school as well. We received videos from the school explaining to all the students what is covid-19 virus, the importance of personal hygiene etc . We started our journey with them In December 2014, while our girl Jessie was 23 months old and continued with our son, Jason in March 2017 while he is 3 years old all the way to this year 2020, when our son will be graduating soon. Time flies, it’s been 6 amazing, wonderful and fantastic years of journey for our kids and for us as parents, to work closely and together with Eshkol Valley to raise our kids. The management of Eshkol Valley @ Northstar (Mr. Vincent and Ms. Ruth), the principal, Ms. Stefanie, each of their teachers (Teacher Ashley, Hao Laoshi, Jiang Laoshi, Teacher Alison, Huang Laoshi, Teacher Eunice, Teacher Hannah, Teacher Alice, Teacher Patricia, Teacher June), and the aunties (Auntie Anna, Auntie Serene), has been our 2nd family that helped us to raise and educate our young kids. Initially, I was sceptical on putting Isaiah in a childcare centre after hearing some horror stories. Thinking back, it was also the best decision I have made because the teachers are patient, nurturing and encouraging.
