Art school

"Classical Realism Singapore is a traditional drawing and painting studio focusing on teaching all aspects of the artistic craft. Students enrolled in the programme learn all the techniques and methods used by artists to create realistic and lifelike pictures. All levels are welcome to join, from absolute beginners to advanced. Professional painter and studio owner, Clayton Hudnall, conducts all lessons and uses a specialised curriculum to allow students to advance towards their goal of creating high quality works of realism. The high level achieved by the student body can be seen in the studio gallery. Many of the works shown are by people that started out with no experience at all. The Method

CRSG's method has helped many students in Singapore gain admission to top art schools around the world.

The teaching at the studio is based on the “atelier” method of art education – a centralized curriculum that each student goes through at their own pace. We give you in-depth instruction to help you improve your skills and your ability to achieve your expressive vision.

The Artist

Adult Art Classes For All Skill Levels

Classical Realism Singapore offers a range of classes specifically designed for adults who are passionate about developing their artistic skills. Whether you are a beginner looking to explore your creative side or an experienced artist seeking to refine your technique, our classes provide a welcoming and structured environment for learning. With a focus on classical fine arts methods, adult students will receive personalized instruction that meets them at their current skill level and helps them grow artistically.

We understand that adult learners often have busy schedules, which is why our classes are offered at convenient times, including evenings and weekends. Our small class sizes ensure that each student receives individualized attention from our expert instructors, who have years of experience in traditional art techniques. Classes cover foundational skills focused on drawing, painting, sketching, and sculpture, while also allowing room for personal expression and experimentation. Whether you’re interested in mastering the basics or pushing the boundaries of your creativity, our adult classes offer something for everyone.

In our adult art classes, students have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials and techniques, from charcoal and graphite in drawing to oils and acrylics in painting. Our curriculum is designed to provide a strong technical foundation, while also encouraging artistic freedom and self-expression. Classes are structured to build upon core skills, with plenty of hands-on practice and opportunities for feedback and critique. Adults can explore traditional subject matter such as still life, portraiture, and landscape, all while working at their own pace in a supportive and inspiring studio environment.

Structured Learning

Each art class at the studio emphasizes the importance of structured learning as the foundation for artistic growth. Our curriculum is carefully designed to guide students through a progressive journey, beginning with essential skills such as drawing, composition, and color theory, and advancing towards more complex techniques and personal artistic expression. Each course builds upon the previous one, ensuring that students develop a solid understanding of the principles that have shaped classical art for centuries. This structured approach allows students to master time-honored techniques while fostering discipline, creativity, and confidence in their craft.

Spacious and bathed in natural light, the studio is thoughtfully designed to foster both concentration and collaboration. With high ceilings, large windows, and classical easels, the space echoes the timeless charm of historic ateliers where masters once honed their craft. The serene atmosphere, surrounded by art books, sculptures, and student works-in-progress, provides an immersive backdrop for learning and artistic exploration.
