Malaysia Green Building Council

Formation of the Malaysia Green Building Council (formally known as Malaysia Green Building Confederation (MGBC) ) started in May 2007, when a group consultant, academia and representatives from the building industry met to initiate a non-profit making organisation to promote sustainable buildings in Malaysia.

Our mission is to transform the building and construction sector across 3 strategic areas

• Climate Action – Promoting Green Buildings and Advancing Net Zero towards decarbonisation of the built environment.


• Health & Wellbeing – Promoting a built environment that delivers Healthy, Equitable and Resilient buildings, communities, townships & cities.


• Resources & Circularity – Promoting a built environment that supports the regeneration of resources and natural systems, providing socio-economic benefit through a thriving Circular Economy (Cradle to Cradle) with clear support through Green financing.
