Originally from South Africa, Mark has lived and worked in SE Asia for over 20 years. “Many years ago I was made an offer that would change the trajectory of my career as a podiatrist. So I left my practice in Port Elizabeth and headed to Asia.” Mark has managed 6 clinics in his career and has trained numerous podiatrists. He loves the subject of feet so much that he also has a qualification in paleoanthropology focusing on the evolution of human gait.
He enjoys running, weightlifting, Muay Thai, snowboarding and Salsa.

Proof of progress is always backed up by data and Dr Kardem makes sure to go through the relevant visuals (recorded footage which captures my gait/pronation) and pressure distribution analysis to explain how my condition is improving during every consultation session. Dr Mark is a doctor with a heart for his patient. I first consulted him in late Mar'23 for plantar fasciitis. The pain at my heel was almost unbearable till it affected my daily activities. At 1st I was skeptical but was open 2 the shockwave treatment. Dr mark was upfront n explain the entire treatment process. I came to Dr Mark with a painful nearly-hanging-off big toenail. He had to completely remove the offending nail and he did it quickly, without any pain at all, and he was absolutely reassuring. A week later and the toe is pretty much fine, pain free (although without a nail, but I'm sure that'll grow back eventually). I could not recommend these guys more highly for any toe/nail/foot related issues or injuries.
