Once upon a time, in small Singapore, there was a young woman who had a passion for baking. She took up many baking jobs during her schooling days and she learned the art of baking from her aunt who was a culinary chef in five stars hotels.
Butter Town started from home, from her mother’s small kitchen, serving mainly friends and relatives while juggling a full-time job in the day. In the summer of 2022, she decided to pursue her passion of baking, and together with her sister, she opened her little bakery at Holland Drive Market today.

At Butter Town, we believe in the simple joy of bringing people together over delicious food. Our story centers around the humble shio pan - a soft, pillowy roll with a perfectly salted butter core that's become the heart of our community.
We started with a passion for crafting these Japanese-inspired rolls, adding our own unique touch to the classic recipe. To our delight, locals and visitors alike fell in love with our creation, and soon Butter Town became a beloved spot for bread enthusiasts.
Our motto, #webuttertogether, reflects the connections we see forged daily in our bakery - friends catching up over coffee and shio pans, families sharing a special treat, or strangers bonding over a mutual appreciation for a well-baked roll. We hope to nurture a community, one shio pan at a time. Because we truly believe that life is a little bit lovelier when we butter together.
