K.I.S-Sketch program offers a meticulously structured pencil-sketch curriculum that guides children through every stage of skill development, from mastering line weight and tonal values to tackling still-life compositions. By following a clear, step-by-step learning process, young artists build fundamental motor skills and sharpen their observational acuity, ensuring they progress confidently regardless of their starting point.
Over three progressively challenging modules—Basic, Advance, and Life—students first learn line construction, pressure control, tonal shading, and 3D drawing before moving on to colour-pencil techniques, proportion and perspective, and finally advanced lighting methods and still-life rendering. This carefully sequenced journey not only reinforces technical proficiency at each phase but also nurtures a deeper understanding of artistic principles as children collaborate and learn together.
By the end of the course, every participant witnesses a tangible transformation in their drawing and sketching abilities, enjoying enhanced confidence and creative freedom. Exploring the World of Visual Art: Styles, Techniques, and Trends
DSA Program
Our 60-day DSA Art Portfolio program brings together cohorts of up to 12 students in focused, expert-led workshops—no one-on-one sessions—to spark creativity through group energy and shared feedback. This collaborative setting mirrors real artistic communities, fostering bold ideas and mutual inspiration.
Across four phases—Creative Foundations, Skill Building, Portfolio Development, and Final Polishing—students progress together from theme exploration and technical drills to portfolio curation and mock critiques that simulate real DSA panels. Each step is designed to refine skills, strengthen narrative flow, and build presentation confidence.
On Day 60, participants leave with a standout, panel-ready portfolio and the resilience to defend their artistic vision. Beyond admissions, they’ll gain lifelong creative habits, peer-networking skills, and the self-assurance to thrive in any art environment.
Mastering the DSA Art Portfolio: Your Key to Secondary School Success
Painting Classes
Our Paint Like a Pro™ program guides young artists through a comprehensive acrylic painting journey, starting with essential brush control and colour mixing before moving on to more sophisticated techniques. By following a clear, step-by-step progression, students develop a solid foundation in painting fundamentals and learn to approach each canvas with confidence and curiosity.
Structured across three progressive levels--Acrylic Basic, Acrylic Advanced, and Acrylic Pro—the curriculum ensures that every painter masters uniform washes, simple textures, and basic compositions before exploring colour theory, layering, blending, and complex style emulation. Each level builds on the last, reinforcing technical skills through hands-on projects and group feedback that inspire creative growth.
By the end of the course, participants emerge with a polished portfolio of original artworks and the professional techniques to tackle any painting challenge. More than just brush and pigment mastery, this program fosters lasting creative independence and self-assurance—empowering your child to pursue their artistic passions and bring their visions vividly to life.
Digital ArtClasses
Our Digital Art program introduces students to the powerful world of Procreate in a weekly, structured format that builds both technical competence and keen observational skills. Tailored for young creators with a sense of adventure, each session guides them through the essentials of digital tools and workflows, ensuring they grow comfortable and confident on the iPad without any prior experience requirements.
Over six progressively challenging modules--Procreate 101 through Procreate 106—students master brushes, layers, and interface navigation before diving into isometric drawing, freehand illustration, and advanced colour and brush techniques. They then explore character design with symmetry tools, learn to animate their art using Motion Layer, and culminate by transforming digital creations into real-world products through laser engraving.
By course end, every participant leaves with a polished digital portfolio showcasing their new skills—from dynamic illustrations and animations to custom-designed keepsakes. Beyond mastering software, they gain the creative independence and confidence to pursue any digital art style or project, ready to make their mark in the evolving art landscape.
The Art People Achievements and Features
Lion Heart Project
LIONHEART project was a Singapore initiative to recognize anyone who has made a significant contribution to Singapore during the COVID crisis.
The Art People was recognized for our contribution during the circuit breaker where we offered Daily Free Zoom workshops and Facebook Live drawing classes to kids who were struggling to cope with staying at home.
The workshop was open to anyone local and international. Many kids who were not our students benefited from the much-needed teacher-student interaction that was missing for 4 months.
Parents who could not afford enrichment classes for their kids also benefited. This had a significant impact on their kids' mental health.
Most Innovative Enterprise
The Art People was featured in zaobao 2022 as a finalist of Heartland's "Most Promising Enterprise" award.
In that year, The Art People not only won "Most Promising Enterprise", we also won the overall winner for "Most Innovative Enterprise" award for our teaching and curriculum system.
We don't just Teach, we Educate.
Parents' Choice Award
In December 2022, The Art People participated in our first education-related award since our incorporation in 2011.
The AsianParent "Parents' Choice" award is a recognition by parents and users of our services. This was done by a month-long voting process and we received the highest vote.
The AsianParent "Best Art Enrichment Curriculum" award is and acknowledgment of our outstanding curriculum development that took 6 years to develop and refine to what it is today.
Our K.I.S (Keep It Simple) curriculum is our testament to our commitment to Art education.
Heartland Innovation Challenge
In 2023, The Art People participated in our first Innovation Challenge with Singapore Polytechnic.
Together, we developed a new product line and focus on educational toys.
Pandalio is a toy model-building kit for children ages 5-7 and their parents.
4th Place WINNER
Best In Animation
In 2024, The Art People won Best in Category for Animation Enrichment.
This is the first of its kind.
We are the first enrichment school to focus on developing Kid’s interest in Animation, ranging from 2D to 3D animation.
Using Blender3D and Unreal, we have developed an amazing curriculum that will allow students to experience the fun in making animation.

A Foundation for Passion and Creativity My daughter started her art journey with The Art People at the age of 8, and their weekly classes quickly became her greatest motivation. In fact, we used to joke that if she didn’t do well in school exams, we’d have to pull her out of art class—this became her driving force to excel academically so she could continue her beloved lessons! Teacher Xinyi has been incredibly patient and nurturing, guiding her from foundational coloring techniques to advanced 3D drawing with shading and light reflection. The structured yet creative curriculum truly sparked her imagination. She also loved the holiday programs, where she explored special skills like street art, adding even more excitement to her learning. Thanks to the solid foundation and encouragement from The Art People, my daughter pursued art as her CCA in secondary school and even took it as a subject. Over the years, her artworks have earned several accolades and media recognition—a testament to the skills and confidence she gained here. We highly recommend The Art People to any parent looking for a nurturing, skill-building art enrichment program. Their dedication to fostering creativity in children is truly exceptional!

My daughter was analyzed with mild autistic. I read a lot of article regarding psychology development thru coloring and drawing for children with ASD. I enrolled my daughter to KRTC since perhaps around 6 years ago, firstly it was at NEX mall branch and then moved to Ang Mo Kio branch. Her behavior is much calmer now and also increase her focus level. Her skill is improving so much. Happy and grateful that KRTC is willing to teach art for my daughter.

My child who has high functioning autism has been learning skills and techniques in art pieces since 2019, ever since my child improved in terms of following instructions, definitely recommend other parents who have child with special needs because the teachers there are patience and caring and affordable too!

My daughter enjoys her every art lessons in The Art People . We signed her up as she likes to draw and the location is near our place . She looks forward to each class and finds them both fun and inspiring. Her favorite teacher is teacher Xin yi :) At The Art people , lessons are well-structured, creative, and help her express herself more confidently through her artwork.

Today, we wrapped up our final session… and it was nothing short of beautiful.
Over the past four weeks, caregivers — many supporting children with special needs — gave themselves the rare gift of time, expression, and healing through art. 🎨💛
We saw quiet strength turn into soft strokes, exhaustion melt into color, and most of all — a gentle reminder that self-care is not selfish, it’s essential.
Thank you to every caregiver who showed up, shared their stories, and poured their hearts into each piece. You inspire us. Always.
