Cell-in-a-Box® technology, developed by Austrianova, is a means to protect, isolate, store and transport human and animal cells.
The Cell-in-a-Box® technology builds a porous capsule round the cells, allowing free diffusion of nutrients in, and waste products out, and also allowing any biological molecules synthesized by the cells to escape.
Bac-in-a-Box® technology, developed by Austrianova, is a means to protect, isolate, store and transport living bacteria and yeast.
Bac-in-a-Box® technology builds a porous capsule round the bacteria or yeast, allowing free diffusion of nutrients in, and waste products out, and also allowing the bacteria and yeast to grow in the capsules.
They can then be released from the capsule.
Austrianova offers a standardised cell therapy that can be used for all patients without requiring use of the patient’s own cells. This is called allogenic therapy. It can be used for treating diseases as diverse as Graft versus Host disease, various types of cancer and for infectious diseases.
Austrianova offers a complete cell R&D service from sourcing cells, to designing appropriate plasmids, to generating and characterising clones and finally testing those cell clones in various in vitro or in vivo assays.
