Bellydance Extraordinaire (BE) is the largest professional Oriental Dance school in Singapore and the organizer of the World Belly Dance Festival and the Extraordinary Goddess Pageant. Our dance troupe are World Bellydancing Champions and we have nurtured numerous young talents. For more than 15 years, BE actively promotes Oriental Dancing as an Art Form and a wonderful way to improve self-confidence, keep fit, and connected to the Arts. Through our classes, we provide certification and international recognition in belly dancing. Our audiences include the former Presidents of Singapore, Mdm. Halimah Yacob, Dr. Tony Tan, and the late Mr. S.R Nathan, and Founding Father of Singapore, the late Minister Mentor Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.

WHY BE STUDIO

15 Years of experience in Dance Performacnes. Classes Conducted By Recognized World Bellydancing Championship Instructors. BE’s Founder, Jamila, was the first bellydance artiste to perform on China’s mainstream TV show “So You Think You Can Dance”, and was the first bellydance instructor featured on Singapore’s “Good Morning, Singapore” to teach bellydancing on TV.

Our BellyTechnique Program is designed with newcomers, beginners & dance enthusiasts in mind - combing the best of both techniques & choreography. It’s the best and fastest way to learn the essence of bellydancing.

Classes are conducted by our world-champion instructors, students are guided step-by-step from simple to elaborate techniques & combinations.

Learn how to understand different types of Oriental music and improve your mental agility. Adapt your moves easily into beautiful choreographies.

Our Founder, Jamila

~ World Belly Dance Champion ~

Jamila is South East Asia's most captivating Queen of Oriental Dance. She holds the record as Istanbul’s international dual-championship winner in bellydancing, and participated in China’s “So You Think You Can Dance” & CCTV’s ”舞出我人生” Live Show. She was a guest performer for China’s Guangxi Satellite TV & Vietnam’s HCM TV station. Jamila is often invited to perform and teach around the world in Turkey, Egypt, France, Hungary, China, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia & many other locales.

As Singapore’s most influential and outstanding Oriental Dance artiste, Jamila was the first to introduce bellydance as a musical concert, Extravaganza, in 2011, and a Egyptian-themed dance festival, “穿越”, in 2012. She was also the first to teach belly dancing on local TV, and frequently appears on local media and TV. Since 2014, Jamila organized the annual World Belly Dance Festival, attracting hundreds of international dancers and participants to its Gala Shows, Competitions and Workshops. In 2023, Jamila organized the Extraordinary Goddess Pageant, a platform to inspire personal achievements, create cultural awareness & encourage feminine beauty among women from all walks of life.

Been taking bellydancing classes with Jamila since early May and I've learnt so much! I have a knee injury and was quite scared to start dancing again, however Jamila is really nice and takes into account my injuries when we're dancing. I recently did 2 one on one choreography classes with Jamila in preparation for my Masters audition and she was very thorough. In just 2 hours we prepared an entire 3+ minute choreography that I am very confident in, despite my lack of abilities (and muscles).
