Radical Forms brings together six distinguished artists—whose practices radically reimagine the possibilities of form in contemporary art.
This exhibition explores the plurality and dynamism of form as a living language. Each artist, rooted in a distinct cultural and material tradition, pushes the boundaries of their chosen medium by engaging with both inherited techniques and experimental processes. Their works reveal how radical transformation emerges not only through innovation but also through a deep dialogue with the past: the vessel, the landscape, the gesture, and the mark are all reinterpreted and resurrected.
From Akira Wada’s meticulously carved porcelain and Miwa Kyusetsu XIII’s sculptural Hagi ware toDaisuke Iguchi’s textured, timeworn vessels and Takayuki Sakiyama’s swirling, wave-like forms, each piece in Radical Forms challenges the viewer’s expectations of material, surface, and space. Tomoko Takahashi’s organic, asymmetrical ceramics and Yoon Jungeun’s layered abstract paintings further expand the exhibition’s scope, inviting reflection on the ways form can embody memory, emotion, and the passage of time.
The exhibition invites viewers to consider: How do forms convey their histories? How do they shape our perceptions? And how, in the hands of these artists, do they become radical — alive, mutable, and profoundly contemporary.
Through this convergence of vision and material, Radical Forms presents a compelling reflection on the enduring power and endless reinvention of form in contemporary art.
