Located on a hilltop, the resort on Sentosa Island features 62 contemporary private pool villas surrounded by tropical gardens. Ranging from 211 sqm in size, each villa is a sanctuary for extended stays. Facilities include five restaurants and bars, swimming pool, Raffles Sentosa Spa, fitness centre, and two ballrooms. The upper level ballroom has a terrace that overlooks South China Sea.

I had very high expectations before going, but the service was far below the standard I would expect from the Raffles name. I hoped the hotel would be stunning, but the design turned out to be very ordinary, and it lacked any beautiful views. There was no walkway connecting to the sea, nor any sea view from the room. Some items were oddly placed, such as a hairdryer by the bedside, and there should have been blackout curtains for the bathroom area. The only good thing was dining at Royal China — the food was delicious, and the service was excellent

We have stayed at Raffles in the city a few times and were keen to experience Raffles Sentosa. Overall impression underwhelming - staff are obviously inexperienced, but this will improve. The design of the whole resort is disappointing - it does not have either the elegance of Raffles in the city nor the architectural originality of Capella Sentosa. I expected a better laid out overall design. The main swimming pool seemed uninviting. No concierge desk - but once we found Ali he was very helpful. The design of the signature suite with separate bedroom and living room not well thought out - having to open and close doors to go from one room to the other is hopelessly impractical - why not design a large self - contained suite? The breakfast very disappointing compared to the city (which is one of the best in the world !) - should be a generous buffet as well as a la carte - not up to standard for Raffles

While the location, setting, villas, and in restaurant service our good, did not feel the benefits of the Butler service. Had to confirm myself the restaurant reservations, as well as the pre-ordered breakfast. For example, why did no one reach out to ask what we wanted for breakfast! On the last point, the delivery was half hour late.

Disappointed with My Second Stay – A Far Cry from My First Visit

This was my second stay at Raffles Sentosa, and unfortunately, it was a tremendous disappointment compared to my first visit. During my initial stay, I was looked after by Ardena, who was absolutely exceptional — truly one of the best service experiences I’ve ever had. She was attentive, responsive, and consistently made sure everything was seamless. Her butler service replied to my WhatsApp messages promptly, and I felt well taken care of throughout the stay. This time, however, I had a different butler, and the difference was night and day. Upon check-in, I even tipped him $50 as a gesture of appreciation, but that was the last I really saw or heard from him. He mentioned setting up a WhatsApp group chat for easier communication, but that was never created. He also promised to arrange a late check-out and said he had already swapped out the key cards to work until 2pm on my last day. However, the cards stopped working on Day 3 — it seems he may have registered the wrong dates. Worse still, my WhatsApp messages were completely ignored. I had to resort to calling for even the most basic assistance. For example, to leave the villa, we needed a buggy — but since my butler had effectively vanished, I had to message the general butler services contact. Even then, there was no reply, and I eventually had to call (again) after waiting over half an hour with no response. It was incredibly frustrating to have to make repeated phone calls for something that should have been easily handled over text. The final day was the most disappointing. I called five times trying to request a buggy for check-out. When I finally got through, I specifically asked for a larger buggy to accommodate our luggage. Yet they sent a small one — knowing it was our check-out — and of course, none of our luggage fit. We had to wait again for a second trip to collect the bags, adding unnecessary delay and frustration. What’s baffling is that we were tipping staff generously throughout our stay, so the complete lack of service was even more disheartening. This stay was far from the standard I expected and not what I paid for.
