The EduGrove Methodology

Breaking away from the traditional rigid methods of learning Chinese found in other tuition centres, EduGrove focuses on cementing important commonly tested keywords into the long-term memory through FUN, ENGAGING and EFFECTIVE vocabulary learning games, improvisational and role-playing drama, and stimulating discussions that coax students into expressing themselves using the keywords taught.

Students then get plenty of exam practice through Written Exercises. These exercises allow them to perfect every component of the Chinese examination papers, so that when it comes time for exams, students can approach them with confidence.

Believing that it is not only important to score well in the exams, but also that students are groomed for success in their adult and work life, our enrichment classes not only work on improving Chinese language grades but also important 21st century competencies such as eloquence, presentation, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, all in one class.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Chinese Enrichment Class in Singapore

How can Chinese enrichment classes benefit my child?

There are many benefits to enrolling in Chinese enrichment classes. For one, you will be able to learn Mandarin in a more effective and less stressful way. No need to memorise for the exam or pressure yourself to learn fast. Moreover, you will be able to meet people with the same interests and interact with them.

Why is Chinese tuition or enrichment so popular in Singapore?

First, the educational system promotes continuous and fruitful learning. As such, there are many programmes and grants being offered to encourage parents to send their children to tuition or enrichment centres. Another reason is that since most households have both parents working, sending children for these types of programs after school means that they will be able to make better use of their time in a safe environment.

Why is Chinese enrichment important for your kids?

With fewer families speaking Mandarin at home and most students interacting in Chinese primarily during school hours, additional enrichment is crucial for language proficiency. While traditional memorisation methods often used in schools can make learning dull and ineffective, in our classes, we provide a more engaging and immersive experience, focusing on long-term retention and practical application of the language.

Why do parents send their children to tuition?

From our years of experience in teaching Chinese enrichment classes, we’ve observed that parents send their children to our enrichment centre in hopes that the kids will be able to learn Mandarin effectively. In most cases, the household does not use Mandarin very often and thus, the children develop difficulty acquiring the language. Our Chinese enrichment centre serves as a helping hand for parents in teaching their kids the Chinese language

What is the best Chinese enrichment centre in Singapore?

EduGrove can be a Chinese enrichment centre in Singapore for your children. We believe that learning a language, especially if it is one’s mother tongue, should be done from an early age. Thus, our enrichment centre offers various programmes where very young children will be able to learn Chinese while playing, interacting with other kids and having fun.

How much is Chinese tuition in Singapore?

The fees for every Chinese tuition in Singapore vary depending on factors like location, teacher qualifications, and programme offerings. Here at EduGrove, we strive to keep our rates as affordable as possible for parents who wish their children to learn Mandarin. If you want to learn more about our fees, feel free to reach out to our team. We can provide you with detailed information on our rates along with any inquiries you may have about our enrichment classes.

Is it too young to start toddlers with Chinese enrichment?

Research indicates that early childhood is the optimal time for language acquisition, and toddlers with limited exposure to Chinese may struggle later in school. Therefore, it’s essential to start them early.

EduGrove’s Mandarin playgroup in Singapore provides a structured and immersive Mandarin environment for toddlers aged 1-3, promoting overall development while fostering a love for the language. Activities and stations are also specially designed to aid the overall development of a child in these crucial early years. Stimulation through play, songs, and art helps them use their body and senses and develop their critical skills, all while primarily acquiring the Chinese language.

What makes EduGrove Mandarin Enrichment Centre different?

At EduGrove, we do not focus on the traditional short-term memorisation methods of learning. Rather, we make learning Chinese FUN, ENGAGING, and most importantly, EFFECTIVE, where keywords and phrases are taught using active play and role-playing drama techniques. That way, they are remembered in the long run.

Our enrichment classes empower students to vocalise and apply what they learn so that they can attain a good understanding of the vocabulary and naturally use it in their speech.

We also believe that teachers play a vital role in a child’s interest in learning the subject. As such, we have teachers who are Mandarin speakers and have graduated from the top universities, with many of them having Master’s Degrees in Teaching. This is to ensure that they not only have the knowledge, creativity, and passion for teaching but also have a good command of English to help students of any level.
