"HCSA Community Services is a charitable organisation with Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status and a member of the National Council of Social Service. We were launched in 1996 as a halfway house for recovering drug addicts and ex-offenders. Today, our work has expanded to include teenage girls who have suffered complex trauma from abuse, single-parent families with limited support and other at-risk groups in the community."

HCSA SPIN held our very first social gathering for our alumni group, Solo & Strong! 💪
12 amazing parents and their little ones came together for a day of connection, laughter, and new friendships. 💬🍽️🎈 It was heartwarming to see new alumni mingling with seasoned ones — chatting, bonding, and letting the kids have a blast (almost like one giant playdate!). 🛝
One special moment? Two parents who met at the event ended up forming a friendship. What made it even more touching was that one of the parents isn’t fluent in English — but that didn’t stop them from forming a real connection nor their kids from playing and having fun with each other. This just goes to show the power of community, understanding, and mutual support. 🫶🌏
With 57 members actively engaging, our Solo & Strong alumni group is only getting stronger! We’re so grateful to all our SPIN parents for building this beautiful community with us. ❤️

Single-parent families navigate parenthood with limited support and they deserve to be empowered. Did you know that 83,000 resident households in Singapore are single-parent families?
HCSA SPIN serves to empower single parents who lack support, so that they may become more resilient and self-reliant. Through services such as counselling, befriending, peer support, and workshops, we aim to strengthen single parents` social support, enhance their psychosocial well-being, and equip them with better caregiving abilities. We also care for their children, providing group tuition, homework support, and counselling to help them thrive at home and in school 🎓
Thanks to your support, we’re creating real change in the lives of these families. But there’s still more to do.

🎓 HCSA Academy April 2025 Graduation 🎉
Our April 2025 batch of HCSA Academy students has officially graduated from the nationally accredited WSQ Higher Certificate in Food Services — and what better way to celebrate than with a buffet lovingly prepared by the graduates themselves! 🍽️ Each dish was a reflection of their dedication, resilience, and growth — and each one truly delicious in its own right.
Addressing the attendees, our Academy Head, Sony Haq, shared how the programme equips our students beyond technical culinary skills. It provides them with the confidence and foundation to step forward into their futures with F&B establishments. 👨🍳👩🍳
It was especially heartwarming to see the graduatesfamilies present, cheering them on— a perfect reminder of how crucial support systems are in everyones journey. 💛

🍽️ Simulated Dining Event – A Taste of Excellence! 👨🍳👩🍳
Recently, our April 2025 batch of HCSA Academy students put their culinary training to the test with a special session simulating a fast-paced kitchen environment where they have to cook and serve under time constraint, while patrons eagerly await their meals. This session, aptly named Simulated Dining Event, saw them preparing and serving a beautifully timed 3-course meal — and they absolutely nailed it! From prep to plating, each course was served fresh, on time, and full of flavour.
🌟 The Menu:
🥣 Corn Potage with croutons and basil oil
🐟 Seabass à la Nage with roasted cauliflower, confit shimeji, cherry tomatoes, lemongrass broth, and smoked paprika oil
🍮 Chendol Coconut Panna Cotta with azuki bean and gula melaka sauce
That`s right, the food tasted as good as the menu sounds. Every bite was a delight — so much so that the first few minutes of each course were met with silence as guests savoured the flavours. That’s the mark of a job well done! 👏
We’re incredibly proud of the students for their professionalism, precision, and passion in the kitchen. With every service, theyre not just cooking, theyre building confidence and real-world skills for a future in F&B.

HCSA Highpoint Hari Raya 2025 Celebrations 🎊
Earlier in April, HCSA Highpoint celebrated Hari Raya 2025 with a lively evening attended by 120 people, including Highpoint residents, alumni (AIMS), and their families.
The celebration featured activities like games and performances, to a fun-filled photo booth! One notable highlight was the Dikir Barat performance by the Highpoint Residents. This was the first time in while that the residents had put on their own performance. Their families thoroughly enjoyed watching the show, especially seeing the residents` enthusiasm and joy on stage. The photo booth was another highlight, with everyone posing with props and embracing the fun 🤩
Thank you to everyone who joined us—and a special shoutout to the residents for putting on a fantastic performance!

Often, upon their release from prison, some individuals may be without a home to return to or may have minimal to zero income and support for their families, prompting an urgency for these needs to be met. HCSA Highpoint provides support for ex-offenders in these circumstances, assisting them in their endeavour to secure employment and long-term housing.
