Who are We?
Ethikom was founded by Nizam Ismail.
Nizam has had a unique mix of experiences as a regulator (Division Head at the Monetary Authority of Singapore), Head of Compliance (at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley in Singapore, covering Southeast Asia), and as Regulatory Consultant (as Head of Financial Services for a law firm, and co-Founder of a compliance consultancy in Southeast Asia).
He has worked with some of the leading global financial institutions and hundreds of international FinTech firms, both startups and unicorns.
He believes in taking a practical and risk-focused approach.
He is known as a thought leader in regulatory compliance matters in the region, having spoken in various international fora, and conducted consultations and workshops for regulators in the region.

Ethikom was derived by a play of the words "ethics" and "compliance" - two critical factors for financial services firms.
Our logo is inspired from the Indonesian "tikar", a woven mat made from dried leaves. The logo underscores the strong interplay of different success factors in determining the success of an organisation, including having good governance, risk management, compliance and a strong ethical foundation.
