Teacher Jenny, our professional piano teacher, has a master’s degree in music and has more than 20 years of teaching experience in piano performance. She has also won the first prize in the La Pianista International piano competition in 2021, a competition that is annually held for showcase of piano performance. She has a unique philosophy in her piano teaching, and believes that scoring good results for piano exams requires a unique teaching methodology. This approach has been proven to help many students improve to become good pianists in Jenny student's piano recital and score excellent results on exams. Five of Jenny’s students have also won 2nd and 3rd prizes in the pop, classical and open categories in the La Pianista Piano Competition in 2021. Music theory Lessons Grades 1 to 8 and AmusTCL Diploma in Music Theory
Here at Jenny’s piano school, she has produced plenty of music students and music teachers to achieve high scores in music theory exams, her one-year music theory crash course (44 lessons) offers mainly three packages, grades 1 to 5, grades 6 to 8 or AmusTCL diploma in music theory within one year. Besides young children, these programs are also specially crafted for adults and music teachers.
The music theory syllabus has been changing in the past few years and the ABRSM music exam board has been introducing new topics in the past year papers, in order to equip students with necessary skills, teacher Jenny has crafted her own music theory guide book grades 1 to 8 and AmusTCL diploma music theory according to the latest music theory exam syllabus, she introduces the simplified technique that is simplified and doesn’t require the students to have perfect pitch in order to compose beautiful music.
In grade 8 and AmusTCL music theory exams that require students to compose piano and instrumental works, she uses scientific method to help students to visualize the melody with expressive performance directions and lyrical melodic directions. Teacher Jenny introduces useful templates to write the melody. Also, a comprehensive method for question 2 in completing missing parts for piano composition. This approach has been helping students to score almost full marks as they follow the pre-designed templates and steps closely.

Jenny has won the first prize in La Pianista international piano competition in 2021, a prestigious piano competition that held yearly in Singapore. As a professional piano teacher in Singapore, she has over 15 years of experience teaching Trinity and ABRSM Piano Diploma students. Other than above music courses, teacher Jenny also offer piano recording service for piano exam submission, the studio is equipped with professional (Shure) microphone that can be connected to smart phone’s ‘Motiv Video’ app, the microphone has good capability to eliminate white noise and capture the sensitivity for performers who aim to produce wide range of dynamics and different layers of tone colors. This feature is helpful for higher grade students to meet the examiners expectation in shaping the lyrical musical phrases and observation of performance directions.
Besides the professional microphone, the recording studio provide a grand piano from ‘Knabe & Co’, model WKG48 (148cm in length), made in America. Produces beautiful, warm and glorious voice perfect for piano exam recording.It’s has rich, distinctive, warm, clear tone brings it to be official piano at Carnegie Hall and New York Metropolitan Opera House. It is a preferred piano brand by music icons Elvis Presley and Nobel Laureates Albert Einstein. Teacher Jenny has been using this recording studio for her higher grades and diploma students, they produced wonderful results due to the successful interpretation on challenging pieces and it was recognized by the examiners that the recording managed to capture the characteristics of pieces from all musical genres from classical, pop, jazz and new age music.
