Why Choose Hua Language for Your Chinese Tuition in Singapore?
Extensive Experience
With more than 3 decades of experience, Hua Language Centre was one of the pioneer Chinese enrichment centres in Singapore. Some of our students are now parents sending their children to our classes!
Our founders are Singaporean Chinese language educators who understand the needs of Singaporean children as well as the local MOE syllabus thoroughly. We aim to inspire and engage the students in learning Chinese in a fun and unique ways, to master their Chinese language skills.
Curriculum by Expert
Our curriculum director was a specialist inspector for Chinese language at the ministry of education. During his time there, he was involved in setting Chinese exam papers and was the chief marker for some Chinese exam papers. This gives him valuable insights into how examiners think. Our curriculum leverages these insights to teach our students to study smart for their Chinese exams.
He is also a prominent member of the Singaporean Chinese literary circle and a columnist for Lianhe Zaobao.
Teaching Quality
Our teachers are trained to create a nurturing environment for children to learn. We believe in encouraging students and creating a positive mindset in learners. We also have ex-MOE school teachers to audit our classes and provide our teaching team with tips for honing their craft.
Motivated Learners
It is no secret that learning is optimized when it is enjoyable. Understanding child psychology helps you understand how to motivate children to learn. Our curriculum makes learning fun by incorporating activities that motivate children to learn. In this way, having a fun curriculum does not affect the effectiveness of our programmes.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between Chinese tuition and an enrichment class in Chinese?
While both aim to strengthen language skills, Chinese tuition focuses more on academic achievement and exam preparation, closely aligned with the school syllabus. An enrichment class in Chinese, on the other hand, takes a broader approach, enhancing language appreciation, fluency, and real-life communication through engaging, hands-on activities.
How many students are there in each class?
At Hua Language Centre, our class sizes are kept small, usually between 6 to 8 students. This ensures that each student receives personalised attention during their Chinese tuition, allowing our teachers to monitor progress closely and provide targeted support.
Can my child join if we don’t speak Chinese at home?
Yes, definitely! Our Chinese enrichment classes are designed for children from all backgrounds, even if Chinese isn’t spoken at home. We focus on building a strong foundation in the language, making it accessible and engaging for students with little or no prior exposure.
How do you assess my child’s Chinese proficiency?
We offer free assessments to evaluate your child’s current language level. Through this, we determine their strengths and areas for improvement in speaking, reading, and writing, allowing us to place them in the appropriate level of our tuition programme.
How long does it take to see progress in learning Chinese?
On average, we recommend giving your child at least one term (around three months) to see noticeable improvement. Our structured Chinese classes focus on building essential skills in vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension, helping students gain confidence as they progress.
