Nestled in the residential area of Sengkang West and located within the vicinity of Sengkang Methodist Church, Sengkang Methodist Preschool offers a spacious, safe and conducive environment with both indoor and large outdoor spaces that are purposefully designed and equipped to support children’s holistic development and play-and-inquiry-based learning.

We were established in 2003 and attract a unique mix of children from diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Students benefit from the exposure to and close interaction with peers in the rich atmosphere of diversity. Our strong team of qualified and experienced principal and teachers are well-trained to administer our broad-based curriculum to attain our desired learning outcomes as well as inculcate our core values and nurture positive learning dispositions in our children.

We offer 4-hour to 6-hour pre-nursery, nursery and kindergarten programmes with a holistic STEM-based and tech-enabled curriculum that nurtures every child to be a person of Good Character, who is an Explorer, an Innovator and an Entrepreneur.

Sengkang Methodist Preschool’s mission is to create opportunities for our students to be adventurous explorers to try out things that they have never done before. All the learning activities are planned to lead children to take up the challenge to explore the unknown, and the resilience to persevere from failure to success.

Our curriculum integrates Christian values for the children to learn, trust, obey and be humble. It equips them with the ability to contribute to the community, create changes or improve on existing structures and make things happen through actions and words.

In accordance with Ministry of Education guidelines for preschool admission, the age of a child is calculated based on 1 January of the year of admission.

One of the programmes we have included in our curriculum is the KidzLive : I Can Protect Myself programme launched by Children’s Society since 2011 to educate and empower children on self-protection. Through the programme, our children learn body-safety skills which is key to preventing child sexual abuse.

Early childhood educators play a critical role in laying the foundation of learning and holistic development during the golden preschool years - some of the most important years of a child’s life. We honour 14 educators in our family of Methodist preschools who has dedicated the last 5 - 30 years in faithful service to our preschools in our Teachers’ Day Special series.

• Few things that I love about Sengkang Methodist Preschool is that they offer a STEM-based curriculum, they provide their students a conducive learning environment and they have a diverse set of students. * We chose Sengkang Methodist Preschool for our youngest boy, Lucas because of their excellent programs in developing young minds. Since enrolling 2 years ago, we saw marked improvement in Lucas' enthusiasm in learning - he will ask us to practice writing and drawing with him on his own accord.

On top of that, there was also much emphasis on character building for SKMP's students which we appreciate. Mischievous as a child at his age would be, we could see from his eyes that he understands that his mischief needs correction when we talk to him over matters.

Not forgetting the fun outdoor playtime which Lucas often relates to us on how much he enjoys them. He loves water play and zooming about in his 'car' around SKMP's grounds.

In totality, we think that SKMP's curriculum makes for a holistic development for a young child, and we are confident that with the passionate Staff and Teachers we had interacted with so far, SKMP will continue to nurture young minds and build their character to the fullest.
