"Formerly known as Very Special Arts Singapore, ART:DIS is a non-profit organisation that champions the learning and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities (PwDs) in the arts.

We provide a wide range of programmes to enable PwDs to develop their artistic interests, grow their self-confidence and be engaged as active members of a supported community. Our parallel professional development pathways further supports sustainable & meaningful impact for PwDs to gain work experience, empowering them to live independently in the community.

At ART:DIS, we value the unique strengths and perspectives of PwDs and believe the arts offers us a lens to understand who they are, to connect with and to experience the world together."

Fine Arts offered at ART:DIS @ Bukit Merah!

The Fine Arts programme at ART:DIS will equip budding minds with basic traditional art knowledge and skills. Through five intensive levels, students will learn the difference between shapes, colours, lines, light and shadows, textures, patterns and mediums such as pencil, ink and paint. They would further hone their skills in observation, hand-eye coordination, comprehending instructions, exercising choice, articulating ideas and expressing themselves.


Class progression is entirely dependent on the student’s learning pace, and we cater to the student’s needs. Schedule a consultation session with us so that we can get to know the student’s needs better.

Designed to impart an appreciation and understanding of rhythmn in music, the electronic drums class removes the barriers associated with modern drum kits and makes learning easy. With no music theory or drumming background required, lessons will focus on:



  • Improving hand-eye coordination, as well as observation skills.

  • Counting numbers and beats.

  • Developing perception and self-expression.


Class progression is entirely dependent on the student’s learning pace, and we cater to the student’s needs. Schedule a consultation session with us so that we can get to know the student’s needs better.

Our digital illustration class is a fuss-free method of exploring one’s creativity and appeals greatly to the tech-savvy generation. Using softwares and a stylus, students learn how to digitally draw and manipulate shapes/layers to create works of art that are scalable to fit any printed surface. Lessons will cover various aspects such as:



  • Colour theory and character design

  • Development of self-expression and confidence in one’s ideas

  • Storyboarding
