How has the COVID-19 Coronavirus impacted us?
During the pandemic, many enrichment centres were affected. We underwent a "Circuit Breaker" on the 28th March 2020 and all non-essential businesses including us have to be shut for indefinitely. The circuit breaker was only lifted on 18th June 2020 when the number of infected cases in SG had decreased. Many schools have since resumed their operations and welcome students back. In February 2020, KGMA has been looking at transforming traditional one-to-one lessons into online lessons. Like any parent and students, when we first started, we had many questions and we were worried that online lessons could be less effective. Much to our surprise, we learned so many benefits that having online lessons had brought to our students. Today, we are a leading music school offering online music classes as an equal alternative to our students.If you are considering to have online lessons with us, feel free to attend a trial lesson with us to experience what we can offer. We are a Music School that is tucked away in a corner of King George's Building, a 5-minute walk from Lavender MRT. Our students feel right at home when they enter our music studio, after all, Music is a fun thing to do!
How do we create a Unique Curriculum?
Our Experienced teachers develop their syllabus according to students' learning abilities. Having a strong team and quality management of our staff well is very important in developing musicianship in all our students. We help our music instructors develop their Music Excellence by providing them with valuable and relevant resources. We also conduct training and meetings actively to discuss on how to make every student become better musicians. This applies to students of all skill levels and any instrumental lessons(the beginner or the advanced learner) We place a strong emphasis on keeping our lessons consistently high quality.
How do we build a Strong Foundation in our students?
Establishing a strong foundation in our students is the key to our success. Developing self-motivated individuals and self-directed learning has always been our goal. Our music instructors employ problem-based learning to identify problems such as technical problems, timing issues, reading problems, and many more. Through identifying problems, we get to understand the strengths and weaknesses of students and we can determine appropriate teaching strategies and plan our lessons accordingly.
Structured and highly customizable lessons on an individual basis is an important aspect of our music school. Our engaging and dedicated teachers are able to adopt a different style to cater to the individual learning needs of each student. We are definitely not afraid to use a new teaching style!
