I have been attending Teacher Daniel's lessons from secondary 2 to the A levels. His classes have been fruitful and are customised to target my weaknesses I had in English for the O levels and H1 General Paper for the A levels. While the transition from the O levels and A-Levels was a very challenging one, his classes made this transition easier and much more manageable. Teacher Daniel encourages and pushes me to continuously improve and refine my writing as there is always room for improvement in the English language. English was never one of my favorite subjects. However, I knew that I had to score reasonably well (at least a B3) in it as it was also a compulsory subject.I am grateful for Teacher Daniel’s support and guidance in this regard as he made lessons tolerable and also helped me to perform well enough to qualify for NYJC through DSA after the 2024 O levels by hitting my target.

After my PSLE, I didn’t qualify for Express and entered NA. However, with Teacher Daniel’s guidance and support, I achieved a significant milestone, which was promotion into Express in Sec 2 within less than a year.This transition wasn’t easy. The English syllabus in the Express stream was particularly challenging and I often felt overwhelmed. Despite the difficulties, Teacher Daniel stood by me week after week, breaking down complex topics and helping me tackle my weaknesses. Teacher daniel often reprimanded me countless times due to my mischievous and not being obedient and taught me the right way how to tackle the right steps to do the questionThere were many times I wanted to give up, but his encouragement kept me going. He constantly reminded me of my potential, even praising me in front of my mother. That gave me renewed determination to prove myself.Teacher Daniel believed in me more than anyone else, even though I was not an academic student. I enrolled Jerry for English lessons with Teacher Daniel when he was struggling with the subject at the beginning of S3 and scoring Cs or failing.Teacher Daniel was extremely strict with my son and worked tirelessly on the specific areas where he needed improvement. I’ve been attending Teacher Daniel’s lessons since I was in secondary 1. Under his guidance , I slowly gained confidence in my English ,even though I struggled with the sudden change in syllabus when I moved on to secondary 3. My son, Zi Yang, entered the Normal Academic stream in Secondary 1, and we were initially disappointed by his performance in the PSLE. However, Teacher Daniel never once put him down. My son's English at the end of P5 in the end of 2023 was unstable. The main weakness was his composition. Teacher Daniel started by evaluating my son's strengths and weaknesses, then proposed a learning plan.My son started to be more open to learn and he began to improve in his composition. Even his school teacher noticed the positive change within a short 2 months and provided feedback to me.Teacher Daniel helped my son to understand his weaknesses and bad habits in English.One thing to note as well is the oral practice. I was signed up for many tuition classes for different subjects. Teacher Daniel’s lessons stand out among them. He constantly tells us that the pace in which he goes at depends on the pace we are at. Teacher Daniel helped me to organise my approach when it came to writing. At the same time, he got me to explore different forms of writing formats rather than to stick with only one. This enabled me to have more options to choose from when handling exam questions. Teacher Daniel’s lessons are very different from school. He focuses on getting us to learn by figuring out what to do differently whenever we make mistakes. In many cases, he gets us to compare papers to see why some answers are better than others, especially when it comes to writing.That approached allowed me to stay focused in class as that hands-on approach kept me interested in lessons, which facilitated better learning. I was barely passing English when I first joined Teacher Daniel’s class in Secondary 3. There were many areas I faced challenges in initially such as writing a proper PEEL paragraph, recognising comprehension question types and even time management when handling exam papers.I am grateful to Teacher Daniel for helping me to mitigate those areas of concern over the time in his class. I gained a better understanding of the requirements and was able to finally complete exam papers on time.Those improvements allowed to jump a few grades from when I started. I was initially quite reluctant to sign up for English lessons as I believe that my English was decent and I did not need outside support. However, my results did not reflect that belief, especially when I had to handle Paper 2. I often stumbled in this area and so my mother decided to get help from my brother’s English Teacher, Mr Daniel.Since signing up for classes, I started to better understand that different questions required different steps and I could not rely on one single approach to answer questions as they had varying requirements. That realisation helped me to pull my grades up and I was eventually able to achieve a score of B3 for English at the Os despite struggling previously.

Janna’s English results were constantly around a B throughout her secondary life. However, Teacher Daniel never wavered in his belief that she could do better and constantly encouraged her to overcome her hurdles especially in the area of writing and sentence structure.His encouragement and advice to keep focusing on the process helped motivate Janna to press on even during challenging moments. I have been in Teacher Daniel’s classes since S2, where I first struggled to score a grade 4 for English at the NA level. When I first started, I had many bad habits and could not even form a proper sentence. Due to that, my results for English were less than ideal.Despite these challenges, Teacher Daniel managed to customise a language programme for me that focused on my sentence structure. Teacher Daniel was recommended to me by a friend whose 3 kids are exemplary learners in their various schools, scoring straight As in all their subjects. He assesses the students to identify their weak areas to improve on and customizes his coaching for each student to focus on targeted areas of improvements as well as improving overall skillsets. He provides clear, concise and detailed analysis on their work submitted to him – errors, explanations, and pointers on how to improve, with examples.2. He sends the same report to parents via whatsapp to keep them in the loop so they know what is covered in lessons, track progress and know how they can better support their children. For me, with that information, I was able to select the right assessment books targeting their weaker areas so they can practice more. When you have self-motivated learners, the battle is half won.5. Teacher Daniel maintains an open and communicative partnership with parents to help the children in their learning journey. He gives timely feedback, is open to and makes time for discussions, gives advice, talks to the kids when necessary, and even offers valuable advice and gives his inputs when asked on selection of secondary school, based on his professional knowledge and understanding of the child. He made me feel that I found a partner in my child’s learning journey, who is really interested in their academic progression and working towards the most holistic personal outcome for them in their next phase, taking them closer to their aspirations. How much more can a tutor do?6. It is helpful for your kids to have extra support for the times when school is not where they can turn to. My children have been turned down by teachers in school when they needed to seek clarifications, after lessons or after school, on school work or enrichment materials. School teachers these days have too much on their plate and have no time to do more than what they have covered during lesson time; they have family to return to, next day’s lessons to prepare, other classes to teach and lots of marking to do. For PSLE, whatever the school can do for their students is often not enough for them to excel in PSLE. Tutors like Teacher Daniel, who can be there for them to answer any question they may need to ask, pertaining to the subject, are rare gems and a must have. Sebastian initially lacked confidence when handling the English paper in upper primary and that caused his scores to slide to the low 60+ range in P5. In the 10 months that Jairus has been with Teacher Daniel prior to his PSLE, I have seen Jairus become more confident across the various segments of the English paper. Not only did he improve in his Comprehension and Grammar work but he was able to speak more articulately too.Teacher Daniel put in much effort to make Jairus submit weekly recordings for oral before his prelim exam and the PSLE. Teacher Daniel is known for being a very strict disciplinarian. He made Chen Yang fill up an entire book of corrections and got him to revise why errors were made and what needed to change. That was tedious for my son but was also what he needed to do in order to improve his performance in school for English.Chen Yang grew more confident as he became more aware of what he had to do after that experience. Teacher Daniel is someone who encourages kids to speak up if they need help. This is the case in class and even outside class when the kids need to clarify their understanding of the concepts taught.That was something I appreciated as my daughter, Li-Shan, was able to get her queries answered in detail whenever she posed questions to him. I signed Randall up for English lessons with Teacher Daniel at the end of his P5 exam and I do not regret that decision. Teacher Daniel focused on helping Randall work on his writing habits and made Randall redo his work repeatedly until he started changing his habits for the better.While it was painful for Randall initially, that level of strictness helped him to tighten up his writing habits which assisted in him getting much improved scores in Composition and Comprehension. I started lessons with Teacher Daniel after my S3 exams in November the previous year. My scores were far from ideal and I was not very clear about what I was doing wrong. I have been attending Teacher Daniel's lessons from secondary 2 to the A levels. His classes have been fruitful and are customised to target my weaknesses I had in English for the O levels and H1 General Paper for the A levels. While the transition from the O levels and A-Levels was a very challenging one, his classes made this transition easier and much more manageable. After my PSLE, I didn’t qualify for Express and entered NA. However, with Teacher Daniel’s guidance and support, I achieved a significant milestone, which was promotion into Express in Sec 2 within less than a year.This transition wasn’t easy. The English syllabus in the Express stream was particularly challenging and I often felt overwhelmed. Despite the difficulties, Teacher Daniel stood by me week after week, breaking down complex topics and helping me tackle my weaknesses. My son, Zi Yang, entered the Normal Academic stream in Secondary 1, and we were initially disappointed by his performance in the PSLE. However, Teacher Daniel never once put him down. My son's English at the end of P5 in the end of 2023 was unstable. The main weakness was his composition. Teacher Daniel started by evaluating my son's strengths and weaknesses, then proposed a learning plan.My son started to be more open to learn and he began to improve in his composition. Even his school teacher noticed the positive change within a short 2 months and provided feedback to me.Teacher Daniel helped my son to understand his weaknesses and bad habits in English.One thing to note as well is the oral practice. Teacher Daniel’s lessons are very different from school. He focuses on getting us to learn by figuring out what to do differently whenever we make mistakes. In many cases, he gets us to compare papers to see why some answers are better than others, especially when it comes to writing.That approached allowed me to stay focused in class as that hands-on approach kept me interested in lessons, which facilitated better learning. Due to his efforts, I managed to hit my target for English and also quailed for my course of choice in Polytechnic after the Os.

I was barely passing English when I first joined Teacher Daniel’s class in Secondary 3. There were many areas I faced challenges in initially such as writing a proper PEEL paragraph, recognising comprehension question types and even time management when handling exam papers.I am grateful to Teacher Daniel for helping me to mitigate those areas of concern over the time in his class. I gained a better understanding of the requirements and was able to finally complete exam papers on time.Those improvements allowed to jump a few grades from when I started. I scored a B3 for English which was a significant improvement from when I first joined.

I am grateful to Teacher Daniel for helping me pick up better speaking skills since joining his lessons. Teacher Daniel has been a constant source of academic encouragement for me throughout my years in secondary school. Teacher Daniel is a strict no-nonsense teacher who really pushes us to focus on the process. His focus is always on what we can do differently whenever an error is made. That helped me to give me more confidence when handling my work especially when I stumbled in school.I became more resilient and could pick myself up after disappointments as I knew that making the right tweaks would lead to a better performance eventually. I was initially quite reluctant to sign up for English lessons as I believe that my English was decent and I did not need outside support. However, my results did not reflect that belief, especially when I had to handle Paper 2. I often stumbled in this area and so my mother decided to get help from my brother’s English Teacher, Mr Daniel.Since signing up for classes, I started to better understand that different questions required different steps and I could not rely on one single approach to answer questions as they had varying requirements. That realisation helped me to pull my grades up and I was eventually able to achieve a score of B3 for English at the Os despite struggling previously.

Janna’s English results were constantly around a B throughout her secondary life. However, Teacher Daniel never wavered in his belief that she could do better and constantly encouraged her to overcome her hurdles especially in the area of writing and sentence structure.His encouragement and advice to keep focusing on the process helped motivate Janna to press on even during challenging moments. I have been in Teacher Daniel’s classes since S2, where I first struggled to score a grade 4 for English at the NA level. When I first started, I had many bad habits and could not even form a proper sentence. Due to that, my results for English were less than ideal.Despite these challenges, Teacher Daniel managed to customise a language programme for me that focused on my sentence structure. He further peppered lessons with interesting facts such as to use “On the one hand” instead of “On one hand”, which made me keen to learn more and get better.Because of his efforts and his uncompromising discipline to the right habits in class, my English results improved by leaps and bounds and I even managed to secure a Grade 1 for NA English at this year’s N-level examination!

Teacher Daniel was recommended to me by a friend whose 3 kids are exemplary learners in their various schools, scoring straight As in all their subjects. I found his teaching method very effective for these reasons:1. Teacher Daniel is very passionate about teaching and helping students improve. He assesses the students to identify their weak areas to improve on and customizes his coaching for each student to focus on targeted areas of improvements as well as improving overall skillsets. He provides clear, concise and detailed analysis on their work submitted to him – errors, explanations, and pointers on how to improve, with examples.2. He made me feel that I found a partner in my child’s learning journey, who is really interested in their academic progression and working towards the most holistic personal outcome for them in their next phase, taking them closer to their aspirations. How much more can a tutor do?6. It is helpful for your kids to have extra support for the times when school is not where they can turn to. My children have been turned down by teachers in school when they needed to seek clarifications, after lessons or after school, on school work or enrichment materials. School teachers these days have too much on their plate and have no time to do more than what they have covered during lesson time; they have family to return to, next day’s lessons to prepare, other classes to teach and lots of marking to do. For PSLE, whatever the school can do for their students is often not enough for them to excel in PSLE. Tutors like Teacher Daniel, who can be there for them to answer any question they may need to ask, pertaining to the subject, are rare gems and a must have. Sarah started lessons with Teacher Daniel just after her P5 results were released in November. We were hopeful that she could score better with the right support in her PSLE year. Jovan commenced lessons with Teacher Daniel in end Nov after receiving his P5 results. After conducting a diagnostic for Jovan, Teacher Daniel implemented a lesson plan for Jovan that focused on reducing careless errors in the grammar segments. Sebastian initially lacked confidence when handling the English paper in upper primary and that caused his scores to slide to the low 60+ range in P5. His cousin suggested I chat with Teacher Daniel to explore how to assist Sebastian. I was glad that I made that call. Since signing up for classes, Sebastian’s English results have indeed improved. By his PSLE, Sebastian secured an AL4 which was an improvement of over 10% in under a year.

In the 10 months that Jairus has been with Teacher Daniel prior to his PSLE, I have seen Jairus become more confident across the various segments of the English paper. Not only did he improve in his Comprehension and Grammar work but he was able to speak more articulately too.Teacher Daniel put in much effort to make Jairus submit weekly recordings for oral before his prelim exam and the PSLE. Teacher Daniel is known for being a very strict disciplinarian. He made Chen Yang fill up an entire book of corrections and got him to revise why errors were made and what needed to change. That was tedious for my son but was also what he needed to do in order to improve his performance in school for English.Chen Yang grew more confident as he became more aware of what he had to do after that experience. Teacher Daniel is someone who encourages kids to speak up if they need help. This is the case in class and even outside class when the kids need to clarify their understanding of the concepts taught.That was something I appreciated as my daughter, Li-Shan, was able to get her queries answered in detail whenever she posed questions to him. That process of constant clarification allowed my daughter to clear her doubts when revising. This contributed greatly to her scoring her highest score, AL3, for Upper Primary English at the PSLE!

I signed Randall up for English lessons with Teacher Daniel at the end of his P5 exam and I do not regret that decision. Teacher Daniel focused on helping Randall work on his writing habits and made Randall redo his work repeatedly until he started changing his habits for the better.While it was painful for Randall initially, that level of strictness helped him to tighten up his writing habits which assisted in him getting much improved scores in Composition and Comprehension.
