What happens after O levels? A level and Polytechnics are not the only options
If you have obtained or currently pursuing you GCE O Level, junior colleges and polytechnics in Singapore and not your only options.
In Singapore, our constant need to be ahead of the curve has driven us to emphasize on the importance of grades in our O-Level results. UniGlobal Education believes that there is a university for everyone and every individual is unique. Our professional consultants will match the right pathway to your desired course and university base on your academic results, country preference and budget.
The A level in Singapore is highly competitive and not everyone will able to meet the entry requirements to gain admissions to their desired programs at a local university. It is also highly competitive for graduates from local polytechnics to gain admissions to popular faculties at a local university, e.g. Business. There are wider options of courses for O-Level graduates who wish to study overseas.
These options are also open to N-Level Academic and NITEC certificate holders. These pathways are known as Foundation Programs. Foundation Programs are a pre-university course which bridges the proficiency gap for students to enter directly into University after the 1-year program. Essentially, you will save significantly more time compared to doing a Diploma or the A-Level in Singapore.
According to a recent report, foundation pathways to overseas universities, mainly in the UK, Australia and New Zealand have seen an increase in demand from O-level graduates in Singapore. Students will do a year of foundation studies in lieu of the A levels, and progress to an affiliate university.O-Level graduates are able to gain admissions to most US universities or do a 2 years associate degree at a US community college without having to so a foundation program.

United States options -
Students are able to apply to most US universities for the 4 years undergraduate degree programs with their O level qualifications without the need of doing a foundation. Another popular option is the 2+2 option: Students start off with a 2 years Associate Degree program at a Community College in the US. and transfer into the junior year (3rd year) to some of the world's top universities like Cornell University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Washington and many more.

They are experts at conducting Foundation Programs that provides pathways to all universities across the UK including Cambridge, Oxford, Bristol and many other top institutions.

Australia options -
(1) Canning College, Perth:
Canning College offers quality pathways to university for International Students. Pathways include Year 10, Year 11, Year 12, Certificate IV in Science and Commerce, and Diploma of Commerce. Founded in 1982, Canning College, an independent government school, boasts an extraordinary success rate for students continuing their education at prestigious universities.The Diploma of Commerce at Canning leads to the second year business degree programs at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and Curtin University.
(2) Taylors College:
Taylors College Foundation Program is a fast track 1 year program that leads to highly ranked universities like the Australian National University (ANU), the University of Sydney and the University of Western Australia (UWA).
What Happens after A level / IB Diploma and those currently doing their A level / IB Diploma?
You are eligible for direct entry into the first year of a Bachelor’s Degree Program if you have good grades from GCE A Level or IB. Most Bachelor’s Degrees usually last for three to four years while medicine/dentistry degrees would last for five to six years.
If you are not qualified for direct entry, you may choose the Diploma Pathway/ International Year One Program. A Diploma Pathway/ International Year One is a full-time academic program equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor’s Degree. Successful completion of the Diploma Pathway/ International Year One guarantees you direct entry into the second year of a range of Bachelor’s Degrees with some top universities in Australia and the United Kingdom.
